Concurrent cache misses

Hey,

Does Varnish have an equivalent of Squid's "collapsed forwarding" feature*?

Or, are there other ways to prevent a storm of requests landing on my
origin web servers when I introduce new content?

(We will be handling revalidation, this is just about preventing a
meltdown for content that has never been cached before)
