caching behaviour for root domains (homepage)

I'm new too :) , so not sure if this is the best way, but something
like this might work?
sub vcl_recv {
if ( req.url ~ "\.(aspx)$" || req.url ~ "^/$" ) {
# don't lookup cache for .aspx pages or root /
return(pass);
} else {
return(lookup);
}
}
