support to install varnish on a VPS (Plesk on Centos)

Which rpm did it install (if it did)...?
  # rpm -qa | grep varnish
The howto you used is based on (the old) CentOS 5.
Are you on CentOS 6 or still on CentOS 5...?

If you are on 6, you should install the corresponding varnish repository:
http://repo.varnish-cache.org/redhat/varnish-3.0/el6/noarch/varnish-release/varnish-release-3.0-1.el6.noarch.rpm
