Trying to make sense of varnishstat

[Jennings III, Raymond]

I have the following output (Varnish 4)

MAIN.client_req              2098626        39.11 Good client requests
received
MAIN.cache_hit               1122150        20.91 Cache hits
MAIN.cache_hitpass               450         0.01 Cache hits for pass
MAIN.cache_miss               246939         4.60 Cache misses


Varnish 3 used to have "client_conn" and that was essentially the sum of
the hit, pass, hitpass.

What am I missing here?
