When to use Varnish in front or behind NGinx

It depends on what other services nginx may provide besides TLS
terminaison. If the answer is "none that could not be implemented with
Varnish" then hitch could also be a good fit, but the systems
administrators managing those services may for some reason need to
stick to nginx so I didn't bother bringing it up.
