Comment:

 "I guess its time to go 64bit, seems silly when the current servers are
 90% idle"

 It's two different dimensions really.

 64bit is about how much memory your CPU can address.

 The cpu being idle is about how much work there is for it to do.

 I will warmly recommend going 64bit for varnish if you have more than
 about 1.5 GB of cached data.

 I'm not sure I see a bug here, so I'll take the liberty of closing the
 ticket with "worksforme"
