#467: prevent percent-aspects of munin plugin from scaling
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
 Reporter:  anti         |        Owner:  kristian
     Type:  enhancement  |       Status:  closed
 Priority:  normal       |    Milestone:
Component:  munin        |      Version:  trunk
 Severity:  trivial      |   Resolution:  wontfix
 Keywords:               |
-------------------------+--------------------------------------------------
Changes (by kristian):

  * status:  new => closed
  * resolution:  => wontfix

Comment:

 The problem with this approach is that many of the percentage-based values
 might not vary very much. Specially hit-rate, which often dwells in the
 range of 98-99%, but a variation from 99% hit rate to 96% hit rate is
 still a 400% increase in backend traffic. These seemingly small variation
 would be next to impossible to spot on a graph always ranging from 0 to
 100%.

 That being said, you can override almost all variables the plugin sends,
 see
 http://munin.projects.linpro.no/wiki/faq#Q:CanIsetoroverridethecriticalandwarninglevelsorotherparametersforaplugin

 Also: I'm currently re-implementing a munin-plugin for Varnish increase
 the usability (fewer but better graphs), and concerns like these is beeing
 re-evaluated with the context of this new plugin.
