#546: Varnish eating up my memory
----------------------+-----------------------------------------------------
Reporter: hp197 | Owner: phk
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone: Varnish 2.1 release
Component: varnishd | Version: trunk
Severity: normal | Resolution:
Keywords: |

Comment (by phk):
First, Varnish needs other kinds of memory than the backstore, and the
exact ratio depends on many things and factors. For instance ban/purge
entries which contain regular expressions will allocate memory for the
parsing tables etc.
I have spent a lot of time looking for memory leaks, and not found any and
not found any way to reproduce the memory loads you and others have
reported.
I guess what we need is for somebody to run 2.0.4 under Valgrind to see if
it can spot anything...
