 As an afterthought: I see froum your "uname -a" that you're *not* running
 Solaris 10 but a rather dated version of OpenSolaris. Maybe upgrading to a
 newer release would fix some of the problems? Also I have to say that I'm
 not using GCC but prefer to use SunStudio 12/12u1 on Solaris instead.
