 Ok, turns out the difference is whether I'm running Varnish in the
 foreground or as a daemon. Still, 2.0.4 works flawlessly with exactly the
 same settings. Will investigate further. Since even changing the compiler
 to GCC doesn't help I suspect it's a more general problem with Solaris
 that's at work here.
