Comment:

 I am getting exactly the same problem with 2.1.3

 varnishlog shows:
   858 StatSess     - (null) (null) 1288300233 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
   858 SessionClose - dropped

     0 CLI          - Rd ping

 Entries in the syslog are also two hours off.

 I'm not exactly sure what the trigger is, but it seems to be happening
 more frequently, from once a week to more than once a day.
