 same here, with version 2.1.3. the cheapest fix was removing the file
 _.vsl living in the same folder as the .bin file.

 i think it is because i removed varnish from my autostarted services and
 now it just gets killed on shutdown, instead of shutting down properly.

 but this is kind of stupid, if the process dies for some reason on a
 server, it should be able to restart as fast as possible...
