 I'm reluctant to put in that other patch you added here, as that extended
 timeout allows slow operations started on the command line to have
 extended time (e.g. compiling the VCL). The timeout in varnishadm is used
 for commands that are not expected to take long (e.g. receiving banner and
 doing the auth stuff), and also for the receiving of responses from
 varnish when in interactive mode, but only when we know from polling that
 there is a message available. So the timeout is a timeout for the network
 only, not for the actual running of the command by varnishd.
