#1192: RHEL6: Init-script not giving correct startup
--------------------+----------------------
 Reporter: Ueland | Type: defect
   Status: new | Priority: normal
Milestone: | Component: varnishd
  Version: 3.0.2 | Severity: normal
 Keywords: |
--------------------+----------------------
Running Varnish 3.0.2 from RPM on a RHEL6 box, after a crash, varnish
would not start anymore, even then the init script says that it has
started. I have not yet figured out why varnish does not start. But the
main issue here is that the init script says "Ok" when it should say
 "failed".

[root at dev ~]# rpm -qa|grep varnish
 varnish-3.0.2-1.el5.x86_64
 varnish-libs-3.0.2-1.el5.x86_64
(PS: Running the RHEL5-package on RHEL6, not sure if this is the problem
 itself.)

[root at dev ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.3 (Santiago)

[root at dev ~]# service varnish start
Starting Varnish Cache: [ OK ]
[root at dev ~]# ps -ef|grep varnish
 root 7718 4694 0 19:25 pts/0 00:00:00 grep varnish

 (nothing running from Varnish)

 dmesg:
