 I'd like to second this report. We were bitten by the default "private/no-
 cache" behaviour and I was surprised to find the solution on the
 https://www.varnish-cache.org/trac/wiki/VCLExampleHitMissHeader page.
 Varnish usually seems to have sensible and reasonable defaults, just not
 in this case.

 I was also quite surprised by the respons to related ticket #477.
 (https://www.varnish-cache.org/trac/ticket/477#comment:3) and do not agree
 with the reasoning. Safe defaults should always be the goal, especially
 when easily implemented.

 In my opinion it would be far easier to fix the default VCL, rather than
 post warnings all over the docs, but anything is better than causing an
 information disclosure problem for unsuspecting users.
