 I'm working on Debian Squeeze with Varnish varnish-3.0.5 revision 1a89b1f
 and the 'Variable Support' VMOD.  I encountered the error: Can't
 "determine vmod installation directory" during the configure process for
 the VMOD.  I determined that I could supply the path to my VMOD directory
 using the VMODDIR parameter, however, the documentation states that the
 VMOD directory should be discovered automatically.  I am putting in this
 ticket to assist in determining why the automatic discovery did not work
 as advertised.
