 If it just randomly happens, I don't really know what could be causing it.
 It's certainly not Varnish itself.  Check dmesg for any hints about you
 hitting the OOM killer, also check other log files for clues.  If none of
 that helps, I'd write a systemtap script to log sender and receiver of all
 signals and use that to track it down.
