 First:  We did change the probing code recently, so I'm not ruling out
 that there may be bugs.

 Try doing a "backend.list -p" CLI command, that should show you which
 exact part of the probe is missing.

 From the above varnishstat I can see that b1 and b2 probe flawlessly, b3
 has some errors and vod has many errors.

 Also, varnishlog would likely contain clues.
