What's varnish' max cache capacity? 2G?

I noticed the cache' capacity couldn't be exceeded more than 2047M in V2.0.2, but the capacity could be set to 3072M in V1.1.2.
 
So,I wonder what the max is ,why ,and if there's anyway to increase varnish' capacity due to my personal needs.
