How to debug Varnish code using gdb.

Hi All,
Iam working on ESI part of Varnish, and to understand the code flow, i was trying to use gdb debugger, but didn't have any luck so far.
Please help me out in understanding how to debug Varnish source code using gdb.
I checked with the Make i could find that it compiled with -g Option, but still face these errors.
