unprocessed requests

We are seeing some very weird behaviour with requests that seem to be 
getting send to the backend server and returned to the browser without any 
VCL processing happening. I've submitted a ticket with all the information 
we have at http://varnish.projects.linpro.no/ticket/232 .

I'm a bit at a loss how to debug this further. Is there something we can 
take a look at? Unfortunately I do not have root access to the relevant 
machines, so I can not get a network dump.
