Varnishstat in trunk

I wanted to test the trunk version, but I am unable to compile 
varnishstat and varnishtop.

I have no compilation error, they are simply not there after my make and 
make install.

I also seem unable to get varnishadm working:

[root at cdn-web08 varnish-cache]# varnishadm -T 6082 help
connect(): Invalid argument
An error occured in receiving status.

I must be doing something wrong, any body can make suggetsion?
