objects vs object heads

On a new/test installation (on 3.0.2; the one with the gzip crash hence the frequent restarts) I enabled persistent storage on one of the two nodes.

Before enabling persistent storage "objects" and "object heads" were basically the same number (see first graph below from the other server).  After enabling persistent storage (graph from the other server below) "objects" is a tiny number and "object heads" seems similar to before.

Is that expected?
