See https://www.varnish-cache.org/docs/5.1/users-guide/vcl-backends.html#multiple-backends

Your backends might look like

backend www {

    .host = "192.0.2.0";

    .port = "80";

}

backend support {

    .host = "192.0.2.1";

    .port = "80";

}

The names are just labels.

To use backends like this, see https://www.varnish-cache.org/docs/5.1/users-guide/vcl-backends.html#backends-and-virtual-hosts-in-varnish

Let me rephrase the question. I have a domain name www.peg.com<http://www.peg.com> and then there is a support website called support.peg.com. To create the backend server it doesn't allow for the period is there a way to allow for this in the backend server name
