<div dir="ltr"><div>Guys, I've got this sorted out. Once I was able to produce verbose output on trying to start varnish with <span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"> </span><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">`varnishd -C -f [path to your vcl file]` I realized that what I was getting with adding the second node was the 'backend not used' error in varnish. </span></div>
<div><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">So then I tried adding a load balancing section like so: </span></div><div><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br>
</span></div><div><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><div>director www round-robin {</div><div> { .backend = web1 ; }</div><div> { .backend = web2 ; }</div><div> }</div><div><br></div><div>But then I saw that I was still getting the backend not used error, so I googled it and found that I had to add the following section to my VCL:</div>
<div><br></div><div><div>sub vcl_recv {</div><div> set req.backend = www;</div><div>}</div></div><div><br></div><div>Once I did that, everything fell into place. Varnish is now started and working. </div><div><br></div>
