This is sufficient so one can "cd contrib/libevent" and run configure
&& make && make install if one does not already have libevent.  I'll
add glue to the top-level configure script later to make this happen
automagically.
I'm considering doing the same with libsbuf, to avoid collisions on
BSD systems which already have it.
