Varnish + ESI in production

Hi,

I was wondering if there's any report of varnish + esi being used in
production, particularly in heavy traffic sites (but reports otherwise
would be nice too). I'm considering it for a project and have already
gathered some information, but I'd love to hear more about your
experiences.
