Duplicate Purges / Purge.Length size reduction

Hello All.

I have a few questions on the length of the purge.list.

1 - Is it something to be worried about? What's the optimal n_struct_object
to n_active_purges ratio?
2 - If I have periodic purge adds that are adding the same URL pattern to be
purged, does varnish do any internal optimization?
3 - Is it better to have a ban lurker in place to keep the purge.list length
under check?
